"Rounds of Combat"
(by Edward Goldstein)
Parody of "Sounds of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkle
Hello gamers my old
friends
I've come to GM you again
Because my campaign needing players
And you all want to find treasure
Here's a module that was purchased yesterday
Come and play
And fight in rounds... of combat
In darkened rooms of
evils told
Searching for that chest of gold
'Neath the halo of a lit torch
I checked my armor and took first watch
When my friend was stabbed in the flesh by an angry orc
We set to work
And rolled the dice... for combat
And in the battle we
will score
Ten thousand x.p. maybe more
Fighters swinging without thinking
Clerics fighting the un-living
Wizard's casting spells of magic power rare
And we did fair
Feeling the pains of combat
"Folks it seems we have
won,
wasn't that a lot of fun?"
"Cleric pray and heal our boo-boos
To your church we will pay dues."
For the next days travel will be rough
Another chance for rounds of combat.
And so gaming went
that night
We were always in a fight.
What is this that we're playing?
Which does not involve thinking?
And the game read "A module for Dungeons and Dragons
for levels seven through eleven
Which explained the rounds of combat.
Oh my wasn't that fun.
Now
take me back to the parody menu!
