I was attending the San Diego International Comic Convention when a man I hadn't seen in years approached me, Tim. Apparently he was tracking down people who used to go to the Mystic Moon Bookstore in Spring Valley (in Southern CA) that was run by Scott and Judith. They also ran a coven that met at the bookstore after hours and had public rituals for the high holidays as well.

It was at this time that I learned of the tragic death's of Scott and Judith. They were camping and had huddled in their car for warmth as it had gotten bitterly cold. There was a leak in the propane stove and the two of them asphyxiated in their sleep. Tim was there to let me know there was a memorial service on Sunday.

The tragedy is that I lost two people that I cared very deeply for even though I hadn't seen them in many years. They were like a second family to me. I feel fortunate that this occured at a time where I could be with friends and remember them both.
